School Supplies Bought Wholesale By One Texas School…Not
It is that time of year again and the big sucking noise on my wallet begins. Why is it that all of the schools do not just join their buying power together and purchase school supplies from Costco or Sam’s at a wholesale price? The students would get more supplies and the parents would be less stressed.
No, they want parents to run around like wild blind monkeys searching for that specific writing pad printed on papyrus with 6 lines in avocado green.
I think parents need to unite and show our buying power. How about all the parents get together and buy shoes, undies and socks wholesale? Show those stores who is boss. I think this would be a good opportunity to teach the kids about their own buying power.
Why do I have to buy so much paper, folders and stickies? What happened to computers? I thought that paper was on its way out of our lives. No….every Tuesday I get a folder with 125 sheets of paper of my students’ “classwork”. I am so sentimental I cannot seem to throw the schoolwork away. It now sits in 3 Rubbermaid containers spread throughout my house.
Why can’t they just scan all of the work onto a jump drive and send it home so I can view it on my computer? Maybe I will brink this up at the next PTA meeting but I keep forgetting that some of the moms don’t even know what a jump drive is?
